KORE is a film-, theatre and new media production company focusing on artistic and edgy projects with a female perspective and an international commercial potential. We produce film, theatre and new media, with a special eye for projects about youth and empowerment issues. Our work with immersive and participatory theatre methods has drawn interests and funding from institutions as diverse as the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dunkers Kulturhus – one of the most important contemporary art museums in Sweden, The Swedish Film Institute, and the Nordic Film and TV Fund. Our crossmedia and immersive theatre project Valkyria was financed by the Nordic Film and TV Fund and selected for workshops and labs all over the world, thereamong Cinekid and Merging Media Canada. Our short film- and new media project Holy things to The Pixel Market London 2011, Boost Hbg Transmedia Program 2011-2012 and to the short film development lab Cortisonici Lab 2012, directed by Mauro Gervasini, head of short films at Venice Film Festival. Our web theatre piece Loves Loves Me Not received national as well as international press attention, as being the world’s first theatre play to be staged entirely on Facebook, and as a result of which, its director was invited to sit on the jury of the very first Web Création Competition of the audiovisual festival FIPA in France. We co-wrote and co-developed the film and transmedia project Granny’s Dancing on the Table , which won ARTE Power to the Pixel Pitch Award 2010 and MEDIA European Talent Prize for Best Script 2011 – the film premieered in Toronto IFF 2015. Our short film The Theft, competed in Uppsala International Short Film Festival 2017, Go Debut European Film Festival 2018, Le Petit Cannes Film Festival and In The Palace International Short Film Festival 2018, and received a Rincon IFF Honorary Finalist Award 2018. Our play Hamlet’s Shakespeare or What you Will premieered to a sold-out house at Lund Comedy Festival 2019. With our daugther organisation The Magic Living Theatre we create unique interactive, participatory performing art for children and adolescents, inspired by forum theatre, game mechanics, installations, location-based games, improvisation techniques and role-playing. The Magic Living Theatre primarily perform our living theatre plays at Girls’ Camp & Fantasy Camp, highly successful theatre camps for children and adolescents in Sweden, and boasts a repertoire of 75 living theatre plays, in genres ranging from arthouse to horror, comedy, history, fantasy and sci fi, with a playtime of between 1-8 hours per play.
